Pasminco Century Mine is one of the world`s largest zinc mines. It began commercial operation on 1 March 2000 and was officially opened by the Queensland Premier, the Hon. Peter Beattie MLA on 4 April 2000

When Pasminco Century Mine reaches full production at the end of 2001, the floatation circuits will produce 880,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 70,000 tonnes of lead concentrate annually
