Century Commissioning Still On Track
An electrical fault in the motor of the ball mill at Pasminco`s Century Mine in North West Queensland is expected to have minimal impact on commissioning of the project.
The fault occurred on Monday and the motor is now in transit to Brisbane for repairs that are expected to take six weeks.
Ore is being treated through the Semi Autogenous Grinding (SAG) mill which has the ability to meet commissioning requirements, where the emphasis is on stabilising the process and producing concentrate to meet Budel Zink`s quality requirements.
Concentrates will be pumped to the de-watering facility at Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria during November. First concentrate shipments are still expected by the end of December.
A further report on progress will be given with the next Quarterly Production Report on 27 October.
